Authorization Specialist – Home Nursing & Therapy Services:
Are you the type of person who thrives on getting it right the first time, loves solving problems before they even happen, and takes pride in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes?
If so, we might be looking for you.
Who You Are:
You’re the kind of person who gets a little thrill from checking things off a list — and you’re fast at it. When a task needs to be done, you double-check it, document it, and move on to the next one without missing a beat. You’re organized, detail-obsessed, and love bringing order to a fast-paced environment.
You’re a communicator — you make sure everyone knows what’s happening, and you don’t let details slip through the cracks. You enjoy working with clinicians, intake, billing, and payers — because you know that clear communication keeps patients cared for and claims paid on time.
What You Want:
- A team where your work actually matters — where accurate authorizations mean patients get care without interruption.
- A supportive environment where everyone works together to solve problems quickly.
- The chance to work with multiple payers, stay sharp on rules, and be the one who prevents delays before they ever reach the patient.
What You Don’t Want:
- A slow, boring job with nothing to do.
- Chaos with no clear process or communication.
- A place where your attention to detail isn’t valued.
Things You Have to Be OK With:
- Handling multiple requests and deadlines at once (some of them urgent!).
- Learning payer rules and keeping up when they change.
- Communicating with a variety of personalities — clinicians, office staff, payer reps — and keeping everyone on the same page.
- Staying calm when something goes wrong, and working with your team to fix it quickly.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- Your work protects patient care. You’re the first line of defense against service delays.
- You’ll never be bored. There’s always something to verify, submit, or follow up on — and that means you’ll go home every day feeling productive.
- Your input matters. We value proactive thinkers who help improve processes and spot issues before they escalate.
- Supportive team culture. We work together to make sure patients get the care they need — no silos, no finger-pointing.
Critical Qualifications:
- 1+ year in healthcare (home health, medical office, or insurance verification strongly preferred).
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance authorizations is a big plus.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically AXXESS, payer portals, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Clear, professional communicator (verbal and written).
- High school diploma required; Associate’s preferred.
About the Role:
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role. Most of the work is done in-office during business hours, with some remote/hybrid flexibility possible
